Quit Happens-Introduction to Quit Smoking Class

Length: 1 hour (4-5 pm on Wednesdays)

Description: An introduction to the quit smoking program at Taddle Creek Family Health Team. This class is for smokers who want to quit or smokers who are not ready but want more information. In this class you will learn about the benefits of quitting, how to develop a quit plan, how you can gain access to free nicotine replacement therapies (patch, gum, lozenge, or inhaler), quit smoking medications, and how our program works. After attending this class, you will have the opportunity to book a one-on-one appointment with one of our pharmacists or registered nurses for smoking cessation counseling and/or medications. This class is scheduled every Wednesday from 4pm to 5pm (except holidays).

  • Making a quit or reduction plan
  • Healthy ways to help you quit
  • Quit smoking medications (nicotine replacement therapy, bupropion (Zyban), and Varenicline (Champix)
  • How to access free nicotine replacement therapy (patches, gum, lozenges, or inhaler)
  • How our program works
  • Additional resources
