Psychotherapy (individual)

Psychotherapy is a short term service offered by Mental Health Team social workers. Psychotherapy aims to increase each individual’s well-being and mental health, to resolve or mitigate challenging thoughts, emotions, or behaviours, and to improve relationships and overall functioning. Social workers encourage patients to reflect on their own personal strengths and support them in the process of goal setting in therapy.  Psychotherapy can be provided for:

  • anxiety
  • trauma
  • depression
  • interpersonal issues
  • stress management
  • coping with chronic illness
  • post partum mood disorders
  • others
