Diabetes DIY ( Do It Yourself )

Description: An introductory group designed to improve your health habits and diabetes self-management. Topics include: what is diabetes, how is diabetes diagnosed, risk factors of diabetes, preventing complications, stress management, nutrition, physical activity and goal setting. This group features a unique collaborative approach to diabetes education that includes interactive education.

 

 Learning Objectives:

  • The basics of diabetes self-management
  • Healthy eating, getting active, stress management and setting achievable goals

Length: 2.5 hours (offered twice a month on Wednesday morning or Thursday evening)

Group Leads: Diabetes Nurse Educator, Diabetes Dietitian

Group Size: 10 – 12 (family members are welcome, please inform reception at the time of booking)
